Marseille - a spicy mix to savor

Anyone who fancies a taste of the Mediterranean for a little less this autumn will welcome news that Ryanair has added a new route to Marseille (see Ryanair offers French connection).

From November visitors will be able to take advantage of cheap flights departing London Stansted, hopping over to southern France for as little as €1.

Culturally diverse, Marseille has been described as a racial melting pot because of the many ethnic communities that reside there. And as it is the second largest city in France it is a place rich in history.

With 807,000 inhabitants, Marseille is a lively city with a vast range of different foods on offer in the various restaurants and cafes. It hugs 57km of Mediterranean coastline meaning it enjoys roasting hot temperatures in the summer combined with a cool breeze from the ocean.
