The legendary 'Voiles de Saint-Tropez' regatta starts shortly. It was formerly named 'La Nouilarge'. This name originates from a bet that two persons had, about which of them would have the fastest yacht. The race was from the harbour around, a mark further on sea named, 'La Nouilarge', and than back to the beach 'Club-55'. The person that was last had to pay for lunch.
The race grew steadily every year until something bad happened. The race has been cancelled for a couple of years because of an serious accident with one dead person as result between two yachts. The race is now held under the new name 'Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez' for the fifth time in 2004. Last year was bigger than ever before and that can only mean that this year will be even better.
