Tourists from Britain and Ireland are flocking in ever greater numbers to the French Riviera, helping make the region the second-most visited in France after Paris, the area's chamber of commerce said Monday.
More than a million Britons stayed on France's stretch of Mediterranean coast in 2005, the body said.
That was a 9.6 percent rise over the previous year, it said, extrapolating from hotel check-ins, which require guests to fill out their nationality and which account for around half the estimated sojourns.
