The Provence is beginning to return to normal today following the weekend weather assault with constant rain and snow for many.
Avalanche warnings have been put in to place in a range of ski resorts following the heavy snowfall (between 60 and 90 cm has fallen since Thursday) with one already occurring at Allos. A 48-year-old Beaulieu resident is critically ill in hospital following the fall yesterday afternoon at 1,800 meters. The man was found underneath 2.5 meters of snow and had been skiing with his brother when the accident happened.
Allos has been placed at the highest warning level of five, with Isola at four. Pistes at various resorts will remain closed as a precautionary measure.
