World Ocean Day comes back to Monaco

The Océanographic Museum in Monaco will host the 'Journée Mondiale de l'Océan' (World Ocean Day) for the fourth year running. Scheduled for tomorrow June 8, many events including debates, exhibitions, and films will take place from 10.30 am until 6pm.

This year's main theme places emphasis on the environmental disasters caused by fishing. The Marine Aquarium Council and associations Niçoise Acroporis and Act for Nature wish to reverse the situation through awareness.

Due to the constant increase in tourism, ornamental fish and corals are undeniably exploited.
