Boudu - New movie set in Aix-en-Provence

Set in the picture-postcard setting of Aix-en-Provence and Paris, this is a social comedy with an art theme. Staring Gerard Depardieu and Jugnot in the lead roles, the movie is an old yarn, retold in a new way.

Christian Lespinglet (Jugnot) is an art gallery owner teetering on the brink of bankruptcy. His wife, Yseult (Catherine Frot), is a heavily medicated neurotic depressive. Christian seeks consolation in the arms of his assistant, Coralie (Constance Dolle).

One evening, he pulls a suicidal Boudu (Depardieu) out of a canal and, urged on by Coralie, grudgingly offers him shelter for the night. The night becomes days, then weeks.
