Energy stickers on 'for sale' cars obligatory

he French government wants to encourage clean cars, which is why from last week cars sold must display an 'Energie' sticker. The aim is to encourage consumers to purchase cars that are less harmful to the environment. The law, in line with a European directive, concerns cars, new and secondhand, in circulation from June 1st 2004.
Seven colors from green A to red G will inform buyers on the level of fuel consumption and the level of carbon dioxide generated, one of the main gases responsible for negative climatic change. With this measure the government aims to reduce transmissions by four by the year 2050 compared to levels in 1990.
