Source: www.thisfrenchlife.com. Posted on 02 March 2005.

ThisFrenchLife.com reports that many towns and cities across France experienced their coldest March temperatures on record.

The mercury dropped to -6.6°C in La Rochelle, -8°C in Toulouse, -9°C in Paris but in the east of France, the village of Mouthe experienced an overnight temperature of -24.9°C.

And the chill was so severe that Electricitié de France experienced its highest ever use of power, forcing it to import electricity from its European neighbors.
