Sarkozy rode a wave of reformist clamour to the Elysee Palace, on a tide comprising French domestic concerns. But since France is an important country in Europe and the world, foreign policy will figure prominently on the Paris agenda anytime now.
Little has been discussed about Sarkozy’s foreign policy, because that is not one of his strengths. Yet much of that little has seen a Western bias in focusing on Europe and North America.
